The Kakadu national park is known as a world heritage area of biodiversity.
It provides habitat for more than 290 birds species. 68 mammals, more than
120 reptiles, 26 frogs, over 300 tidal and fresh water fish species, more
than 2,000 plants and over 10,000 species of insects.

Two species of crocodiles occur in Australia, the fresh water and estuarine
or saltwater crocodile.
Fresh water crocodiles are usually shy animals but can become aggressive
if disturbed.
Esturine or saltwater crocodiles are aggressive. They have attacked and
killed people in Kakadu.
